North Congo Refugee Camp Knowledge Box project
North Congo
Cecile Kahindo and other leaders who have lived within the North Congo refugee camp have teamed up to build a school for women and children that live as refugees in this region of Africa. Jesuits Refugee Services are active in this camp and work with volunteers like Cecile. Women are learning job and business skills and the meals provided to children allow them to attend school instead of caring for their siblings. Many of the children have become disconnected from their parents due to the situation in North Congo so the meals program is critical to the education process.
